I can always circle back to myself
Circling back to myself, I could hear what my inner self was asking of me.
And what it said, guided me just like a compass would.
Even on my twisty-turny route forward.
These past days I haven’t been feeling well, a bad cold took me by surprise on Sunday.
An achy body and stuffy head brought me to a complete and abrupt stop. My plans to enjoy some wholesome family time after my husband had been away during the week were pushed off track.
As I go through my days and weeks, I imagine a clear straight path forward with a few foreseeable curves.
In reality my journey is actually a wavy spiralling path with some unexpectedly sharp turns.
It surprises me.
I felt disappointed when I couldn’t join the family fun last Sunday.
BUT it also surprised me in a positive way.
Forced to take a step back, I felt relief as I surrendered to the rest my body was craving for. It was a special moment to reconnect with myself and listen to my body and my needs.
Circling back to myself, I could hear what my inner self was asking of me.
And so I spent a good deal of the day warm under a blanket, with a cup of tea, a book and the opportunity to doze off whenever my eyes spontaneously shut.
As I circle back to myself my next doable step forward reveals itself.
Now my nose is still slightly stuffy but I feel serenely calm, ready to pick up the next thread in a simple and practical way. And that was creating this post to share this thought with you.
How have you experienced the power of “circling back to yourself” lately?
